Cafe Style

I was inspired by a painting of an Italian street view, with greens, yellows, reds... flowers, wine, bicycles. I wasn't able to find a window covering like I had envisioned, so I enlisted the help of my parents to make my own.

My mom and I picked out the fabric to match my already golden-yellow walls. My dad engineered the valance and... voila!

Now we have our very own cafe!

Turtle Cupcake Cake

I made this turtle cupcake-cake for my friend's baby shower. This is not my best frosting job ever, but it's a very quick, easy cute idea for a little boy shower or birthday!

Cupcakes at Tiffany's

I made these Tiffany blue cupcakes with pearl sprinkles for my friends "Breakfast at Tiffany's" bridal shower.

The cake topper was a plain brown box from Michael's that I painted. It took a few coats, but it beat ordering a Tiffany's box online ;)

Homemade Halloween

About October 10 I finally decided it was time to put up a few Halloween decorations. Well, after searching for hours, I came to the painful realization that ALL of the decorations I had been collecting over the past few years had disappeared. Completely vanished... gone. Perhaps they had become unknown Goodwill donations, but either way I was left without a single decoration for one of my favorite holidays.

A few simple pumpkins from apple hill, vintage frames from a thrift store, & printed clip art saved the day. Here are my last minute, homemade Halloween decorations for 2011:

(a little modge podge, some printed designs, a ribbon = awesome pumpkins)

(Wine glass, black spray paint, printed label, modge podge & twine = spooky potion bottle)
